Michael Hampton is a New York-based composer/musician whose varied body of work has been heard in films, video games and museum installations, as well as on TV and the radio.

Michael began his career in the early '80s Washington, D.C. hardcore punk scene, playing guitar and writing music for S.O.A. (with Henry Rollins) The Faith, Embrace and One Last Wish (with members of Fugazi), releasing several records on the seminal Dischord label.

Later he was the principal songwriter and guitarist for Manifesto, whose sole LP was lauded by both the NME and Melody Maker.

Since then Michael has scored Activision's "Minority Report" video game, 66 documentaries for the Discovery Channel (including 17 episodes of the award-winning "Wings" series) and recorded a CD with Paco, a collaboration with members of the indie-pop band Ivy.

Michael's music has been used by 20th Century Fox, TLC, The Sundance Channel, HBO, Paramount, The WB, NBC, PBS, Nick Jr. and MTV.

Some recent work includes the soundtrack to the award-winning independent feature film "Arranged" and cues for the forthcoming "Last Chance Harvey," starring Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson.
